    Furthermore, higher percentages of methane in biogas were obtained during AD retrofitted with GPM system, 24% increase in the batch experiment and 11% on average in the semicontinuous experiment (range 8.3-13.6%). Simultaneously, a uniform TAN recovery rate of 6.7 g N TAN per m2 of membrane and per day was obtained for the 205 days of semicontinuous operation; ammonia nitrogen was recovered in the form of ammonium sulphate solution. In this study, an adaptation of the quantitative microbial risk analysis (QMRA) methodology was applied to develop this method. However, as meanings and linguistic structures of sign languages are coded in movement and space and decoded through vision, differences are also present, predominantly in occipitotemporal and parietal areas, such as superior parietal lobule (SPL). Whether the involvement of SPL reflects domain-general visuospatial attention or processes specific to sign language comprehension remains an open question. Here we conducted two experiments to investigate the role of SPL and the laterality of its engagement in sign language lexical processing. First, using unique longitudinal and between-group designs we mapped brain responses to sign language in hearing late learners and deaf signers. Second, using transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) in both groups we tested the behavioural relevance of SPL’s engagement and its lateralisation during sign language comprehension. SPL activation in hearing participants was observed in the right hemisphere before and bilaterally after the sign language course. Additionally, after the course hearing learners exhibited greater activation in the occipital cortex and left SPL than deaf signers. TMS applied to the right SPL decreased accuracy in both hearing learners and deaf signers. Stimulation of the left SPL decreased accuracy only in hearing learners. Our results suggest that right SPL might be involved in visuospatial attention while left SPL might support phonological decoding of signs in non-proficient signers.Abiotic stress, such as drought and flooding, are responsible for considerable losses in grain production worldwide. Soybean, the main cultivated oilseed in the world, is sensitive to both stresses. Plant molecular mechanisms answer via crosstalk of several signaling pathways, in which particular genes can respond to different stresses. Previous studies confirmed that overexpression of transcription factor AtAREB1 confers drought tolerance in soybean. However, plants containing this gene have not yet been tested under flooding. Thus, the objective of this study was to characterize genetically modified (GM) soybean plants overexpressing AtAREB1 under drought and flooding conditions in comparison to its genetic background. The results supported the role of the AtAREB1 gene in conferring tolerance to water deficit in soybeans. Furthermore, under flooding, the GM line was efficient in maintaining a higher photosynthetic rate, intrinsic efficiency in water use, and instantaneous carboxylation efficiency, resulting in higher grain yield under stress. The GM line also presented higher protein content, lower concentration of hydrogen peroxide, and lower expression levels of genes related to fermentative metabolism and alanine biosynthesis. These results indicate that in addition to drought stress, plants overexpressing AtAREB1 exhibited better performance under flooding when compared to the non-GM line, suggesting a cross-signaling response to both abiotic factors.The tumor suppressor p53 plays a vital role in responding to cell stressors such as DNA damage, hypoxia, and tumor formation by inducing cell-cycle arrest, senescence, or apoptosis. Expression level alterations and mutational frequency implicates p53 in most human cancers. In this review, we show how both computational and experimental methods have been used to provide an integrated view of p53 dynamics, function, and reactivation potential. We argue that p53 serves as an exceptional case study for developing methods in modeling intrinsically disordered proteins. We describe how these methods can be leveraged to improve p53 reactivation molecule design and other novel therapeutic modalities, such as PROteolysis TARgeting Chimeras (PROTACs).

    Despite absence of clear evidence to assert that the use of coercion in psychiatry is practically and clinically helpful or effective, coercive measures are widely used. Current practices seem to be based on institutional cultures and decision-makers’ attitudes towards coercion rather than led by recommendations issued from the scientific literature. Therefore, the main goal of our study was to describe mental health professionals’ feelings and attitudes towards coercion and the professionals’ characteristics associated with them.

    Mental health professionals working in the Department of Psychiatry of Lausanne University Hospital, Switzerland, were invited to participate to an online survey. A questionnaire explored participants’ sociodemographic characteristics, professional background and current working context, and their feelings and attitudes towards coercion. Exploratory Structural Equation Modelling (ESEM) was used to determine the structure of mental health professionals’ feelings and attitudes towards coercion and to estimate to which extent sociodemographic and professional characteristics could predict their underlying dimensions.
