From technical perspective, pulmonary balloon valvuloplasty was successfully performed and the opening of pulmonary valve was improved in all fetuses in 2-4 weeks. However, progressive restenosis was observed in four fetuses with gestation advancing, and re-atresia occurred in two PA/IVS fetuses at 36th and 37th weeks’ gestation, respectively. The growth trajectories of TV/MV, RV/LV, and TVI/CC were improved in the 1st week after FPV and then slowed down along with pulmonary valve restenosis. All fetuses were born alive and underwent postnatal interventions, including pulmonary balloon valvuloplasty in three fetuses and surgical procedures in two fetuses. During follow-up, three fetuses turned to be biventricular, one became one and a half ventricular at 1-year old, and one died of neonatal infection. 6ThiodG Although pulmonary valve restenosis might occur as gestation advancing, FPV seems to be a safe and feasible procedure to improve the growth trajectories of right heart for fetuses with PA/IVS and CPS.
The goal of this study was to perform a systematic review and meta-analysis to compare the clinical and radiologic outcomes of rotator cuff repair, depending on the presence of developed periimplant osteolysis (PIO) after using suture anchors.
The electronic databases of MEDLINE, EMBASE, and the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials were searched for articles published up until October 2019 to find relevant articles comparing the outcomes of rotator cuff repair between the periimplant osteolysis group and non-periimplant osteolysis group. Data searching, extraction, analysis, and quality assessment were performed according to the Cochrane Collaboration guidelines. The results are presented as risk ratio (RR) for binary outcomes and standardised mean difference (SMD) for continuous outcomes with 95% confidence intervals (CI).
Six clinical studies were included. No significant differences were found between the group with periimplant osteolysis and the group without periimplant osteolysis regarding retear rate (RR = 1.34; 95% CI 0.93-1.94; I
= 28%), postoperative clinical scores (SMD = 0.29; 95% CI – 0.26 to 0.83; I
= 80%) and range of motion (ROM); forward flexion (SMD = 0.39; 95% CI – 0.16 to 0.93; I
= 0%), external rotation (SMD = – 0.10; 95% CI – 0.64 to 0.45; I
= 0%) and internal rotation (SMD = – 0.37; 95% CI – 0.92 to 0.17; I
= 0%).
The presence of periimplant osteolysis after rotator cuff repair with suture anchor does not affect the clinical outcomes such as retear rate, clinical scoring, and ROM. However, as there was no standard consensus on the criteria for evaluating periimplant osteolysis, this result may not fully reflect the effect of periimplant osteolysis depending on its severity.

Classical antiemetic treatment often shows no effect and fatal outcomes have sometimes also been reported. This article describe the case of a young man in whom the diagnosis was made after four presentations due to the typical anamnesis. At this point in time he had already undergone an abdominal computed tomography (CT) and gastroscopy, both with no pathological findings. The symptoms completely receded 6 months after presentation by maintaining cannabis abstinence.Human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSCs) are a valuable source of cells for clinical applications (e.g., treatment of acute myocardial infarction or inflammatory diseases), especially in the field of regenerative medicine. However, for autologous (patient-specific) and allogeneic (off-the-shelf) hMSC-based therapies, in vitro expansion is necessary prior to the clinical application in order to achieve the required cell numbers. Safe, reproducible, and economic in vitro expansion of hMSCs for autologous and allogeneic therapies can be problematic because the cell material is restricted and the cells are sensitive to environmental changes. It is beneficial to collect detailed information on the hydrodynamic conditions and cell growth behavior in a bioreactor system, in order to develop a so called “Digital Twin” of the cultivation system and expansion process. Numerical methods, such as Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) which has become widely used in the biotech industry for studying local characteristics within bioreactors or kinetic growth modelling, provide possible solutions for such tasks. In this review, we will present the current state-of-the-art for the in vitro expansion of hMSCs. Different numerical tools, including numerical fluid flow simulations and cell growth modelling approaches for hMSCs, will be presented. In addition, a case study demonstrating the applicability of CFD and kinetic growth modelling for the development of an microcarrier-based hMSC process will be shown. The public health measures imposed in many countries to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak could have negative effects on children’s physical and mental health. The authors describe four cases of acquired concomitant acute esotropia likely caused from excessive application of near vision during the COVID-19 lockdown. [J Pediatr Ophthalmol Strabismus. 2020;57e88-e91.].The authors describe the case of a 13-year-old girl with choroidal neovascular membrane and a history of benign intracranial hypertension who was successfully treated with a single intravitreal bevacizumab injection administered into the left eye. The visual acuity in the left eye improved to 20/25 at 2 weeks following treatment. The visual acuity was stable (20/20) in the right eye and 20/25 in the left eye with no signs of recurrence over 2 years of follow-up. The current case represents the only one in the literature whereby a teenage girl presented with choroidal neovascular membrane and benign intracranial hypertension. Although this occurrence in males has been previously published, the authors believe that it is important to document the response to treatment because the literature evidence is limited to date.
